The ICC Training and Education programme was launched in 2021 and is designed to provide educational resources and training opportunities through ICC-certified pathways to develop more coaches, umpires, scorers and pitch curators around the world.

In partnership with Members, the ICC is committed to delivering a full range of courses to those interested in starting or furthering their cricket journey.

Coaching

ICC Coaching Foundation Course

The starting point for aspiring coaches, this fully online, self-paced course introduces the fundamentals of cricket and coaching.

ICC Coaching Course Level 1

Umpiring

Umpiring Foundation Course

A fully online introduction to officiating, covering the laws of cricket and match management.

Umpiring Level 1

Builds practical officiating skills through a combination of online learning and in-person assessments.

Umpiring Level 2 (To be launched)

Launching globally from 2026, supported by a network of ICC Master Educators, strengthening officiating standards worldwide.

ICC Curator Foundation Course

An online course providing essential knowledge in pitch preparation and maintenance, including:

criiio Cricket Programme – Facilitator Training

A key entry-level course designed for teachers, parents, and community leaders to deliver fun, inclusive cricket sessions.

• Game-based learning using the criiio format

ICC T20 International Match Official Certification

A specialised online certification designed to prepare ICC Member board officials for the T20 international format.
